BTC spent another week inside the $81,000 to $84,000 range it's held for most of October, and ETH and SOL drifted lower with it. None of the three crossed this week. All three daily MACDs are still bearish.
That bearish read is only a few weeks old. Our daily MACD flipped bullish on all three coins around September 20, and it didn't hold. ETH crossed back bearish on September 28, BTC on the 29th and SOL on October 1.
Since those crosses, ETH is down 11% and SOL 13%. BTC has slipped only 3%, though Thursday's close was its lowest of October.
This week tested the idea that ETF money holds price up. Spot bitcoin ETFs took in roughly a billion dollars over three days, BTC touched $84,000, and then Thursday's outflow gave most of it back.
We expected a billion dollars to buy more than that. Glassnode puts the average ETF buyer's cost near $81,000, right where BTC closed.
BTC's MACD spent the week closing in on its signal line, and by Wednesday the gap was under a quarter of its mid-October width. Thursday's drop pushed it back open.
A bearish state describes the last three weeks of momentum. It doesn't tell you where price goes next.
